Privacy on the website
The website has no cookies, no visitor statistics and no ads. We only learn anything about you if you send us a message.
Who is responsible
Huset Café & Motell, Meieriveien 7, 8646 Korgen, is responsible for the information processed through the website. You can send questions about privacy to kontakt@husetmotell.no, or call us on +47 403 17 353.
When you send us a message
The form on the contact page sends us your name, the email address or phone number you enter, and your message. We only use them to reply to you and follow up on what you ask about.
- The message is received and stored by Netlify, Inc. in the USA, which hosts the website for us. Netlify checks messages for spam automatically and sends us a copy by email. Netlify takes part in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which allows the information to be transferred lawfully to the USA.
- The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering what you ask (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation). If the message is about an order or a booking, the basis is that you are asking us for something before we enter into an agreement (Article 6(1)(b)).
- We delete the message, both at Netlify and in our email, once the matter is closed.
When you visit the website
As with any website, Netlify receives your IP address and which pages your browser asks for, in order to send them and to guard against misuse. We do not use this information for anything.
There are no cookies, no visitor statistics, no ads and no tracking from Facebook, Google or anyone else. The fonts are served by the website itself, so they are not fetched from Google.
Facebook, Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze are only links. Nothing is fetched from them until you tap a link, and then their own terms apply.
The map on the home page
The map at the foot of the home page only loads when you scroll down towards it. Your browser then fetches the map directly from OpenFreeMap (Hyperknot Software Kft. in Hungary), which therefore receives your IP address. According to OpenFreeMap’s privacy policy, IP addresses are not stored in the regular logs, error logs are deleted after seven days, and the service uses no cookies.
Directions and your choice of map app
The website never asks for your location. “Directions” opens a map app with the route here, and the app’s own terms apply there.
If you pick an app under “Choose map app”, your browser remembers the choice in its own storage on your device, so the button opens the same app next time. The only thing stored is which app you chose, and it is not sent to us. “Forget my choice” deletes it.
Your rights
You can ask to see what information we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to our using it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or get a copy in a common file format. Write to kontakt@husetmotell.no or call +47 403 17 353, and we will reply within a month.
If you think we are using information about you in breach of the rules, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet. Feel free to contact us first, and we will put it right if we can.
Changes
If the website starts doing anything new with information about you, we will update this page. Last changed 21 October 2026.
